Event Resources
During the Cubie Air event, resources are collected via Resource Boxes. Resources first introduced during the Cubie Air event include
Key Cards and
Pilot Hats; and brought back
Pumpkin Seeds,

The drop rates below are estimated from player-sourced data and are not actual in-game values.
Key Card - Usually drops in x5 quantity, with a small chance of dropping in an x50 quantity. Drop rate approximately 30%.
- 36 hours after event started, the quantity was boosted from x5 to x10. Also, a small chance of getting x25 was added.
- 3.5 days after event started, the quantity was boosted from x10 to x20. Also, a small chance of getting x100 was added.
- This is the final boost of the event.
Pilot Hat - Drops in x1 quantity. Drop rate approximately 1%.
Fine Silk - Usually drops in x5 quantity, with a small chance of dropping in an x50 quantity. Drop rate approximately 20%.
- 3.5 days after event started, the quantity was boosted from x5 to x10.
Golden Thread - Usually drops in x5 quantity, with a small chance of dropping in an x50 quantity. Drop rate approximately 15%.

Challenges and Criticisms
Challenges
There were several issues that occurred when the Cubie Air Event launched.
- Originally scheduled to be released on September 8 00:00 UTC, the event was delayed by 24 hours. This was due to the iOS and Android updates not being pushed to devices, as the updates were being held up in the Android and iOS Stores. Cubie Air Part 1 was extended by 1 day due to the delay.
- The event Quest Chain was accidentally activated approximately 2 hours earlier than scheduled but continued to drop paint and resin rather than event resources. Once this was discovered, the Quest Chain was disabled until its scheduled start time of 00:00 UTC September 9.
- For the first 30 minutes of the event, there was a bug that dropped high quantities of
Cinnamon Sticks.
- There was a bug that only impacted UK hunters, as they were unable to collect event resource when the event launched. It appeared to be a glitch impacting previous
Keybooths that were converted into
Blue Vaults, and the issue was resolved within the first 24 hours of the event. There were rumblings that the event may be extended by 1 day for UK hunters to make up for the error; however, the extension was never granted.
- During the
Cubie Air Event is when they introduced the "3/3/3" system. Prior to the event, players would always receive a crypto reward and occasionally receive a
Resource Box in tandem; however, the developers changed the mechanism so players would have a 1/3 chance to either receive crypto, a
Resource Box, or the options to choose between crypto or a
Resource Box. Many players were upset with the introduction of this new mechanism during an event, and felt that they were receiving less crypto and resources in comparison to the change. The developers stated that the payouts for crypto and resources were basically on par with previous events. Players were also under the impression that the 3/3/3 system was only to be trailed during the
Cubie Air Event and that the previous reward mechanism would be reinstated after the event. The 3/3/3 system was never removed and is now how players are rewarded until further notice.
- The start of Cubie Air Part 2 was delayed by 48 hours. It was suspected by the community that it was related to another update push being delayed to the iOS and Android Play Stores.
- Several players have reported that the Trivia Gauntlet had an incorrect answer listed as the correct answer, which impacted their progression in Cubie Air Part 2. Those who submitted a support ticket received an "Admin Gift" as compensation rather than another attempt for the Trivia Gauntlet. This was met with mixed reviews by those who were impacted.
- Just after 00:00 UTC on September 27, the developers disabled Cubie Air Part 2 due to detecting "Unusual and suspicious activity" in the Cubie Air 2 data. Community speculation soared. Less than 24 hours later, Cubie Air Part 2 was cancelled with the developers citing cheating, technical issues, and the event not being aligned with how they believed it would play out. Refunds were provided to those who purchased a
Boarding Pass through the
Shop, and those that were earned were returned to players with the intention to relaunch the event on a later date. To compensate for the inconvenience, a
Wombat Cubie would be provided to anyone who earned their
Boarding Pass through the Quest Chain or to any player who partook in the Trivia Gauntlet.
Squeamy, who was a moderator for the official Discord group for 2 years, silently stepped down from his moderator role around the time that Cubie Air 2 was disabled. The reason for his resignation was never publicized.
Criticisms
- Additional
Boarding Passes were sold in the
Shop; however, they were being slowly released in batches. This caused a lot of frustrations with players who were unable to obtain a
Boarding Pass from the Quest Chain and to players who intended to make several attempts.
- Lots of criticisms, speculations, and accusations were circling the Coin Hunt World community when Cubie Air Part 2 was disabled. This became more heated when the devs announced they were terminating the event. Theories included:
- Coin Hunt World and Titanium Toaster becoming insolvent, and this was an "exit scam".
- Citing "cheating and bots" was a scapegoat, and the event was terminated to avoid massive crypto payouts.
- Hackers and DDoS attacks.
- Bot creation to auto-answer trivia to ensure high crypto payouts by players.
While Kookoopuffs provided a detailed explanation through Hunters Hangout, a large number of players remain highly skeptical of what happened. Since the fallout of Cubie Air 2, the activity in the official Discord has decreased significantly.
Reviews
A blog post titled Cubie Air Trivia Winners to comment on the "unrecognizable player names" on the Cubie Air Event Leaderboard were legitimate players, and to denounce the "cheating/bot" theories and statements.
